Why Sony? Sure, they make a home theater in a box (HTIB), but they aren't the best HTIBs out there. If you insist on buying a bundled home theater system I recommend the Onkyo HT-S6100. It's a receiver-based 7.1 surround system with HDMI connectivity that can handle the HD audio coming out of your Blu-ray player. It'll cost you $600-$700, but it's a great system and it's all you will need.

Any home theatre with a TV and Receiver that have HDMI version 1.3 will be the best match for your PS3.
This ensures that your PS3 is allowed to output its maximum 1080p video signal (again, assuming your TV does as well) and the audio can be output at the new uncompressed formats like DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD.
Do not purchase a receiver with an HDMI version 1.1 or 1.2 because they cannot output the new uncompressed audio signals DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD.
Someone below mentioned using optical cable for audio; be warned: you can do it but that connection does not decode the aforementioned uncompressed audio formats, either.
So if you really want a Sony you could get the STR-DG920. If you're willing check out other brands there's the Yamaha RX-V663, Denon AVR-1909 or Onkyo TX-SR706. These are all around the $500 range and over HDMI v1.3 and other benefits per spec.
