How Can I Make A Tv Louder W/o Surround Sound?

I just bought a new 32′ LCD tv and love it, but the sound it a bit too low even when turned all the way up. Is there a way to make it louder w/o surround sound. Maybe could speakers be bought and set next to it?? Or would the speakers only be as loud as the tv is?? Any ideas??

    Yeah I think you can buy some bose speakers for it. What 32″ tv did you buy? I just bought a 32″ Samsung yesterday.

    Simply connect your left and right audio output jacks to any stereo receiver/amplifier with outboard speakers. It’s not surround sound, but the stereo effect can be very good.
    But before going to that trouble, check your set’s setup in the audio menu. There might be an option you can change to improve the sound level, like dropping surround mode.
