40 dollar speakers will last a year. 150 will get you top of the line speakers. and all you need are 6x9s – pioneer , sony , alpine are good choices. plus later on he can buy an amplifier to get the max out of his 6x9s , but they can go without.

You can get replacement speakers for his specific car, but they will require installation which means taking the door panels off. If he can do that, great, but if not, better get the speakers at some place that installs. Another choice might be surface mount speakers that he could just wire in to replace the indoor speakers.

well im tell you like this when it comes to car audio you get what you pay for! if you buy 40 dollars speakers dont be surprise when then go out in a few months im not really sure what walmart has but i know they have sony xplods which i put in my ex girlfriends car and there still working and that was over a year ago so if your looking to get them from walmart get the sony xplods maybe 60 bucks at the most comes with instructions and everything else hope it was helpful
