Car Speaker System Help?
Okay so my fiance drives a older model Cavalier and his speakers went out. He still has the stereo in the car and, it’s actually kind of funny, he has like indoor stereo speakers rigged up to the system. Now for Christmas I want to get him new speakers for his car. Now is that going to be really expensive cause i saw speakers at walmart for like forty bucks. They don’t have to be great wonderful speakers just something to get rid of the speakers laying in the backseat. What all do I have to buy and what should I buy. I know absolutely nothing about this. Please help.

Assuming no mach audio system can easily buy two sets of speakers good for $ 150. Ive used these before and they sound good in the fixed head units. Much better than the stock speakers. well im tell you like this when it comes to car audio you get what you pay for! if you buy 40 dollars speakers dont be surprise when then go out in a few months im not really sure what walmart has but i know they have sony xplods which i put in my ex girlfriends car and there still working and that was over a year ago so if your looking to get them from walmart get the sony xplods maybe 60 bucks at the most comes with instructions and everything else hope it was helpful
You can get replacement speakers for his specific car, but they will require installation which means taking the door panels off. If he can do that, great, but if not, better get the speakers at some place that installs. Another choice might be surface mount speakers that he could just wire in to replace the indoor speakers.
40 dollar speakers will last a year. 150 will get you top of the line speakers. and all you need are 6x9s – pioneer , sony , alpine are good choices. plus later on he can buy an amplifier to get the max out of his 6x9s , but they can go without.
